Charlotte Tilbury's Liquid Lipsticks Are So Very Extra

Makeup artist queen of the glamour-puss, Charlotte Tilbury‘s done it again. Launching today, the aptly named Hollywood Lips liquid lipstick collection features 10 subdued-yet-sultry shades with names like “Too Bad I’m Bad” and “Pin Up Pink.” At $34 each, they’re not exactly cheap, but they’re worth the investment if you’re in the market for a truly phenomenal liquid lipstick.

The creamy formula performs like a velvet matte — but the heftiest velvet matte you’ve tried, thanks to beeswax, which adds a layer of stay-put assurance. That said, this formula is one of the least drying mattes we’ve tried. Due to an infusion of moisture-retaining Hyaluronic Acid, the formula doesn’t shrivel and create the dreaded line-y/cakey look that turns so many people off of mattes. Seriously — this formula could convert liquid lipstick naysayers into believers.

Picking a favorite color from the collection is like trying to choose between merlot, rosé, and prosecco — which is to say, impossible — because each is scrumptious and perfect for (almost) any occasion. If we had to choose, we’d grab the mauvey-pink “Dolly Bird” or the slightly rustier take on the classic red lip, “Screen Siren.” Yet, we repeat: You really can’t go wrong with any of the colors, which BTW are all incredibly opaque.

We’d be remiss not to mention the doe foot applicator, which feels like a big ol’ hug for your lips. Shaped like a crescent, it fits perfectly around dips and curves, almost like a training wheel for application — which, let’s be honest— we could all use with liquid formulas sometimes.

These Hollywood Lips liquid lipticks are available right now on Charlottetilbury.com.
